Commonwealth Insurance / Property & Casualty Insurance
Uncommon By Design
Challenge
As Commonwealth expanded into new markets, the brand needed to communicate more than what the company sold. Leadership needed a clear position that could differentiate Commonwealth in a crowded insurance market, strengthen trust with independent agents, and give employees a shared understanding of the company they were helping build. Without it, teams were executing against different priorities and marketing risked becoming a collection of disconnected messages, campaigns, and creative requests.
Approach
We started upstream, aligning leadership around the business strategy and defining the role brand would play in supporting long-term growth. From that clarity came Uncommon, a shared perspective rooted in what makes Commonwealth different: an accessible, independent carrier built by agents, for agents, and committed to being easier to do business with. That positioning gave leadership a narrative to lead from, Sales a promise to sell, Service an experience to deliver, and employees a purpose they could rally behind.

Outcome
Uncommon became more than a brand position. It gave the organization a shared direction that began shaping how teams communicated, prioritized, and delivered the Commonwealth experience. As alignment strengthened, ad hoc marketing projects declined 35% and revisions fell 20%, while agency email click-through rates increased 56%, unsubscribes declined 23%, and LinkedIn performance grew 78%. The same positioning now extends across employee engagement, sales enablement, advertising, and the digital experience, creating a more cohesive brand as Commonwealth continues to grow.
