Challenge
Childhelp had ambitious goals for growing awareness and fundraising, but marketing lacked the infrastructure and shared direction to support them. Departments operated in silos, project management was fragmented, and antiquated email technology provided limited visibility into performance. Before launching new campaigns, leadership needed clarity around marketing’s role, priorities, ownership, and how teams would work together.
Approach
We started at the top, aligning leadership around organizational priorities and defining what marketing owned, co-owned, supported, and what sat outside its mandate. That clarity cascaded through the organization, informing a new marketing technology stack, project management system, email architecture, brand architecture, and measurement strategy. With the foundation in place, we activated specialized Lab Partners including Brand Overture for website development and InspiredMedia360 for podcast production, giving every team and partner a clear understanding of the strategy, priorities, and role they were there to support.

Outcome
Clarity transformed marketing from a collection of activities into a connected, measurable fundraising engine. Email audiences grew while unsubscribes and bounce rates declined, segmentation enabled more personalized donor communication, and improved tracking gave leadership greater visibility into where fundraising revenue originated. Clear brand architecture better distinguished programs from services, while the redesigned website grew annual online fundraising from approximately $15,000 to more than $200,000 year over year.
